Application of vacuum pump in petrochemical industry
Safe, non-polluting gas control: Vacuum pumps and compression systems can handle variables such as intake gas, explosive gas mixture, dirty friction gas mixture and unpredictable gas flow. With a unique integrated supply range, including vacuum pumps, compressors and composite systems, suitable for a variety of applications in the petrochemical industry. Vacuum pump applications can usually be based on user needs, provide a variety of functions together with integrated systems, and provide proprietary technical advice.

Application of vacuum pump in petrochemical industry

Gas recovery
In the oil and gas industry, gas recovery is the process of recovering hydrocarbon gases from storage tanks where they are released into the atmosphere, whether upstream production or downstream refining. Gas recovery can be achieved by removing the vacuum and compressing the gas from the tank. The liquid ring pump can be used to recover, liquefy, and then reuse the ethane gas. The use of rotary vane compressors for this purpose or in the process includes the separation of non-condensable gases through separators and the compression of gases into sales lines for distribution.

Gas recovery
Gas recovery can be described as gas recovery in a refining sewage system or in production. Because of its composition, this gas is generally considered an exhaust gas. Because it contains a lot of HC gas, it is usually burned off.
A lot of times, there's some quality gas that's available, that's burned off, that has some BTU left over. This gas, once separated, can be recovered and compressed from the low pressure compressor to the large pipeline compressor. These reciprocating compressors extract gases to the maximum extent possible, compress them into power generation equipment, process them, and can be used for combined power generation.
The concept of "turning waste into treasure" is applied here because it is economical to recycle most of the gas to be burned, as well as as a source of energy and income. Minimising unnecessary burning of gas not only benefits the environment, but also solves income and opportunity problems.

Gas booster
Gas boost includes the use of a boost compressor to deliver natural gas to engines that may be used during recovery and compression.

Enhanced oil recovery
Enhanced oil recovery - an upstream process that involves removing the vacuum from the well to relieve pressure on the well, allowing oil to flow more freely and increasing oil production. Also included is incidental gas, simply incidental or wellhead gas recovery, which is accompanied by the use of an oil/gas separator at the recovery point, usually on the well surface.

Gas collecting
This upstream process involves pumping and compressing several Wells, and the gas is collected into a branch pipe or storage tank. This procedure is usually performed by a vacuum pump or a low pressure compressor, which presses the gas into a high pressure line compressor, usually a reciprocating compressor, and into a gas treatment unit.

Stabilization of crude
The crude oil can be stabilized by using a liquid ring pump or compressor to discharge dissolved gases and stabilize the actual steam pressure. According to the change of ambient temperature, the safety of the original tank can be improved by eliminating the vacuum degree and reducing the compression degree of the exhaust port.

Vacuum distillation of crude
By atmospheric distillation or vacuum distillation, the fuel is treated to make gasoline and other hydrocarbon fuels.
This usage includes the application of vacuum equipment to a crude distillation column. The combination of heat and vacuum separates the crude oil into different components depending on the boiling point. The aim is to extract lighter components, such as petrol. Vacuum distillation is more efficient than atmospheric distillation.

Exhaust compression
The non-condensing light hydrocarbon gases discharged from crude distillation columns and other refining equipment are collected in ordinary containers and discharged through pipelines for combustion or to compressors. According to the required exhaust pressure, the compressor compresses the exhaust with a certain combustion value and burns it to recover energy. The process is usually short, and this energy recovery is important for environmental protection.

Steam recovery/gas boost
This differs from exhaust recovery, where steam recovery is relatively fixed and immutable. A typical application is to collect tank exhaust. Tight control of vacuum to protect storage tanks. In general, the exhaust pressure is relatively low. The gas is often returned to the handler or liquefied and returned to the tank.

Filter/remove wax
Filtration or wax removal refers to the collection of wax components in hydrocarbon oil production. Removing wax from oil can improve the quality and applicability of oil. Liquid ring pumps continuously eliminate the vacuum of disc or drum filters that may contain frozen MIBK nitrogen. If a higher vacuum is required, a mechanical fan and a liquid ring pump will be installed to act in combination.

Exhaust gas recycling
Liquid ring compressors are ideal for flare/tail gas recovery units. One of the main reasons is that gas compression is basically isothermal, its temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. This can avoid the use of other types of compressors may encounter exhaust in the compressor due to high temperature polymerization and other phenomena.

Polyester production
In polyester production, the vacuum required in the reaction tower can be obtained by a composite vacuum system consisting of a steam ejector and a liquid ring pump. Different from other applications, ethylene glycol (EG) can be used directly as the working liquid of vacuum pump to facilitate the safe and reliable operation of the whole vacuum system.

PVC production
In the production of PVC, the residual vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) in the reaction is first pumped out by liquid ring vacuum pump and sent to the storage tank. Pressurized to about 0.7mpAA by liquid ring compressor unit, stored in liquid form in VC recovery tank for further reaction.

Chlorine packaging
The high outlet pressure liquid ring compressor can greatly reduce the cost and avoid the environmental pollution in the chlorine packing process.

Vacuum pump applications - Others
Liquid ring vacuum pumps, vacuum units and compressors (including corrosion resistant series) are widely used in petrochemical/chemical industry, far more than the above mentioned. For example, cyclic gas compression, PSA, liquid chlorine production, acetylene, hydrogen and other flammable and explosive gases compression, vacuum system on the top of the tower in vacuum distillation of crude oil, toxic and corrosive gases compression, vacuum crystallization, drying, vacuum filtration, vacuum transportation of various materials.
